The Best New Things To Hit Netflix In October

7 Of The Best New Things To Hit Netflix In October

The Debrief: The wait for Stranger Things 2 is almost over, you guys

In need of a little Netflix refresh? Of course, you are. Lucky for you, we’re about to enter a whole you month which means a whole new selection of binge-worthy TV programmes and productivity destroying films to get stuck into.

From the return of Stranger Things and Riverdale to some of the forgotten movie gems of the 90s and 00s, let us introduce you to what’s worth watching on Netflix this October.

1. Stranger Things season 2

I think we’re all beyond ready to take another journey back to the 80s, find out what the hell is going on with the Upside Down and if there’ll ever be #JusticeForBarb. Stranger Things, it’s been too long.

2. Riverdale season 2

It’s a big month for the return of highly anticipated series, ain’t it. Brace yourself for finally finding out who killed Archie’s dad, if Betty and Jughead’s relationship survive and just how dark things get over in the little town of Riverdale. The week by week episode structure still goes against every Netflix binge instinct we have but we're willing to be patient.

3. Notting Hill

Who said October was only for scary films? Bring on the king and queen of feel-good cheesy romcoms, aka, Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. And yes, Londoners will be very aware that the IRL Notting Hill is nothing like the one these two lovebirds live in these days, but we’re here for the romantic nostalgia.

4. The Notebook

Some more smushy, mushy, love stuff coming at ya. Little introduction needed beyond ready the tissues.

5. Horrible Bosses 2

Sequels are never quite as good as the originals, but Horrible Bosses did it pretty well. You know, if you're looking for a really easy watch with really difficult mates who can't make a decision on which film to put on. Have this as your safe plan B.

6. The Day I Met El Chapo: The Kate del Castillo Story

This three-part series tells the story of Mexican actress, Kate del Castillo, and how she came to meet El Chapo, one of the world’s most infamous drug lords. If you’ve been following the El Chapo documentary on Netflix already, you’ll probably be keen on this new bio-series about what happened when the pair met.

7. Good Will Hunting

What. A. Classic. Matt Damon rocking the 90s boyband hairstyle of dreams, the brilliant Robin Williams and good ol’ Ben Affleck thrown in for good measure. Add to your Sunday watch list immediately.
