Christine And The Queens. 5 Amazing Performances From Graham Norton To Jools Holland

The Debrief: Late to the Christine and the Queens party? Here's a quick catch up.

A few weeks back now Christine and the Queens appeared on Graham Norton. Those already in the know sat back smugly whilst newcomers to the French singer and her Queens watched in awe as the band popped, shivered and gyrated their way through their newest single Tilted. It's like Napoleon Dynamite's Happy Hands Club joined forces with Napoleon Dynamite's Canned Heat performance and went to town. It's amazing.

The video has been watched 1.7 million times and shared nearly 20 thousand times. The comments section are full of the words 'refreshing!', 'original!',  'such a breath of fresh air' and 'Wow! What a fantastic example of how to captivate people without makeup, heels and some poxy hotpants. Talent reigns supreme!'

So, who is Christine and who are her Queens? Well. Christine is actually Héloïse Letissier, a 28 year old theatre graduate from Nantes who, after hanging out with drag queens in London created a backing band of dancers called The Queens. Héloïse, who is pansexual herself, calls her music 'freakpop' and dedicates many of her creations (because, lets be real, her performances are spectacular enough to be described as art) to transgender people. She's been on the scene since 2011 and is bonkers famous in her home country. And, in February, her 2014 album Chaleur Humaine (Human Warmth) has been rejigged and released to a UK audience.
