Which Nail Varnishes Last The Longest? We Put Them To The Chip Test
The Debrief: Ten of our favourite nail polishes, which doesn't chip and dull?
Forget aimlessly wandering around Boots looking for the *perfect* long lasting nail polish. I've put 10 of our favourite brands to the ultimate test. One on each nail, one week. Which one ACTUALLY lasts?
I started by painting each nail with the same base coat (Crabtree & Evelyn), follwed by two coats of the above brands.
In terms of application, the best for pigment and smooth coverage were American Apparel, Chanel and Nails Inc. All had really good strong colour, and weren't either too thick or thin with good brushes.
Newly painted. The dream. Everything is perfect in the world.
Uh oh, Deborah Lippmann, Essie & Nails Inc are dropping off with small chips. Everything else staying strong.
Rigorous netball undertaken, all fingers took a bashing. Essie and Deborah Lippmann are gonners. Really loving American Apparel & Topshop though.
A few chips coming in, annoyingly to some of my favourites. Estee Lauder and Rimmel have gone very dull. Although it got a chip early on, Nails Inc. has held out since then and still looks glossy.
Election Night = nail biting across the board. Bye bye Barry M, Butter, Chanel, American Apparel.
These two held out the best, as well as keeping consistenly good shine and coverage throughout. Here's some of their best new shades for summer!
