J.W Anderson Will Live Stream Their Men’s Catwalk Show On Grindr
The Debrief: Literally the only time we've cared about men's fashion
Dating app Grindr is usually associated with men de-robing, but it seems British designer J.W. Anderson has other, more weather-appropriate ideas.
Tomorrow marks the start of ‘the staple of the menswear calendar’, London Collections: Men, a biannual month of menswear collections, from modern-military designer Oliver Spencer to old-school tailoring from Gieves & Hawkes.
I know what you’re thinking, men’s fashion? YAWN.
But that’s where J.W. Anderson comes in. Grindr, which is predominantly used by gay men looking to hook up with other gay men, will live stream Sunday’s show displaying the designer’s 2016 autumn men’s collection. In fact, it’s the only place you can catch a live stream of the J.W. Anderson show, so if you really, really want to watch all the action as it’s happening, download the app and use the code provided to watch the video.
Could this be a sign of Grindr going beyond the gay dating scene? Apparently so. The man behind Grindr’s marketing told The New York Times that ‘fashion is a very big topic of interest for a certain segment of our consumer’ and envisions a time when the app can shed its stigma and broaden its horizons.
Apparently, he hasn’t ruled out future projects involving music or – wait for it – NIGHTLIFE.
We can't ruddy wait.
