We Tried On All The Vampy Black Stuff In Miss Selfridge So You Don't Have To
The Debrief: Come October, there’s something quite comforting about being a little less Cher Horowitz and a little more Wednesday Adams in our wardrobe choices
According to recent research (by me) many young women (my friends) consider October to be the point in their year when they put away their colourful carefree clothes and buckle down for winter: in black.
Now I admire anyone who carries on wearing white jeans and pastel pink from autumn through til spring, but I personally enjoy embracing the sombre tones of winter. Call me a miserable cow but there’s something quite comforting about being a little less Cher Horowitz and a little more Wednesday Adams in my wardrobe choices. Here's some of the best bits in Miss Selfridge to help you do the same.
The Understated Wednesday Adams
Slouchy rib knit jumpers are v on trend right now and they have the added benefit of being good at keeping the heat in. Pair with a slightly skimpy skirt and knee high boots - or a mug of hot tea, depending on your mood.
The All Velvet Everything
Even vampy girls like to play with a tiny bit of colour (sometimes).. enter the velvet embroidered bomber.
The Sultry Sheer Embroidered Number
Wear it to the pub with a leather jacket and a pair of jeans underneath, wear it to a party with heels and vampy red lips... however you style it this dress is perfect for anyone with a penchant for that dark, mysterious Romanctic thing.
The It Dress
Ruffles, stars and puffy sleeves - if you only buy one thing this month, it should be this tasty little skater dress.
Ruffled shoulders add instant Don't Mess With Me atttitude and you can literally never go wrong by combining velvet, wool and leather. Just ask Morticia.
The New Way To Wear A Hoodie
Every fashion girl on Instagram has worn a hoody under their dress this year. It's like totes the new shirt dress under the skirt thing. Extra points if its embroidered.
Or You Can Just Wear It Like A Normal Person
The other slightly less I-Work-In-Fashun way to wear this delightful little hoody is to wear it with a black skater skirt and these wonderfully tarty Kendall Jenner inspired boots. I dare you to try and wear this outfit without strutting.
