So According To FKA Twigs Dating RPatz Does Come With It's Challenges
The Debrief: Maybe it’s not all it cracked up to be?
Many a time has our mind wandered to the thought of dating a celebrity Adonis, (yes to free priority boarding with easyJet (do slebs even fly easyJet?), and recently FKA Twigs has lifted the lid on life with ‘the man she loves’ – aka Robert Pattinson.
Turns out, despite being a super-talented, quirky artiste, Twigs isn’t too keen on all the pap attention she’s been getting as of late. ‘That side of my life [the paparazzi] is nothing to do with me. That is the… Side of life of the man that I love. Because that is the opposite of who I am as a person, and it was weird… I don’t find it horrible, it’s something that’s very challenging.’ She told The Guardian. ‘I look uncomfortable because I am uncomfortable. But then it’s, like, is this person in my life worth that? And he is, without question. Do you know what I mean? In comparison to how happy I am. And how I feel with him. It’s 100% worth it. Does that make sense?’
We often assume that anyone thrust into the public eye must be happy with being part of celebrity culture, because to an outsider it does look kind of cool – being classed as the It girl of the moment and having people discover your music who didn’t previously know who you were. That’s cool. Except Twigs isn’t part of a the sign-my-poster-please level of fame. She’s been catapulted into stratospheric levels of celeb-dom complete with stalkers, racist abuse and criticism of her music, all because of who she’s dating. Luckily Twigs sounds like she’s happy to weather the storm in order to stay with R-Patz (all together now: ahhhh ), and tbf we probably would, too.
