Fyre Festival Looks Set To Be The Biggest FOMO-Inducing Event Of 2017

Fyre Festival, The Biggest FOMO-Inducing Event Of 2017, Has Announced Its Headliners

The Debrief: Well, actually, Kendall Jenner did it for them

Remember the dark days of December when your Instagram feed was taken over by Emily Ratajkowski, Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin and Elsa Hosk, seemingly holidaying together on an idyllic island? And then we explained that actually they were advertising Fyre Festival and that you can be part of if you have enough $$$ to spare? Well, now there's even more reason to want to splurge, as they've actually announced the headliners. Sort of.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Kendall Jenner did the honours of letting us all know that G.O.O.D. Music would be Fyre Festival's first headliners, playing both weekends of the festival in April/May. As with all things Fyre, this is still kinda vague and mysterious, as G.O.O.D. Music is Kanye West's label that incorporates quite a few artists. So, essentially, we might get Kanye, John Legend and Big Sean, or we might get Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, Desiigner and Tyga – or any combination of those artists.

Billed as “the best weekend of your life”, it's no surprise that Fyre Festival pushed out their headliner announcement the day after Coachella announced their full, impressive line-up (hiya, Beyoncé). However, the first weekend of Fyre Festival takes place one week after the second weekend of Coachella, so you and your fave celebs don’t need to pledge allegiance to one or the other. Again, if your bank balance stretches that far.

Located an hour’s flight away from Miami, Fyre is part of The Exumas, a group of over 365 Bahamian islands. It was once inhabited by English pirate Blackbeard and Pablo Escobar, which explains why the festival organisers have planned a treasure hunt, with a cool $1 million worth of goodies hidden on the island.

But now for the important part: how to get tickets. Well, they’re on sale now, starting at $1,595 per person. That might sound steep at first, but when you consider that includes your flight on a private aircraft from Miami to Fyre Cay, a twin bed in a cosy ‘Retreat’ level room (sharing with one other person, or a friend if you book together) and your ticket to the festival, it kinda balances out to how much you’d spend on Glasto… right?

If you can rope in seven mates you can get an even better deal, like The Lodge in all its luxury, offering four king beds and eight flights/tickets to the festival for $1,249 each. Or, if you're just a total baller, there's the Artist's Palace option. Sleeping eight at a cost of $49,999 PER PERSON, the rich kids' paradise includes dinner with one performer during the festival – so you'd better hope you're getting Kanye and not Tyga if you're splashing out on that.

Of course, there are various VIP packages available, including meals and access to VIP events which have yet to be revealed – but no doubt that’s where you’ll find Bella and co. The adventure of a lifetime or just another overhyped party populated by celebrities and us mere mortals hoping some of their magic rubs off? Guess we’ll have to go to find out.

Fyre Festival takes place from April 28th-30th and May 5th-7th 2017
