Author Reveals Harry Styles Inspired A Character In Her Bestselling Book
The Debrief: Although the character in question is a 17-stone rapper named Mr Power Dub-Box...
We’re not surprised to learn that meeting Harry Styles made an impression on bestselling author and incoming chair of the National Gallery Hannah Rothschild. It’s certainly the kind of encounter we wouldn’t forget in a hurry. Still, we would have never have guessed he provided the inspiration for a character in her bestselling novel, The Improbability of Love.
Not because we think the One Direction heartthrob’s charms aren’t worthy of literary homage, but because the particular character in question is a 17-stone rapper named Mr Power Dub-Box.
According to the Evening Standard, a meeting with Harry at a Kensington art fair was the basis for a scene in which the fictional rapper arrives at an auction, and is surrounded by distinguished figures who only want to acquire a valuable painting because of vested interests.
‘I’ve only spoken to one person tonight, Mr Power Dub-Box, who actually likes the painting,’ says another character. ‘Everyone else seems to want it for a different reason.’
On Friday, Hannah Rothschild tweeted picture of herself and her boyband muse:
Finding out that Harry is an art lover has only made us love him more. We might even start hanging around galleries a little more often ourselves…
