Remember when Diplo (you know, the DJ who makes reggae-racket-music and dated Katy Perry for a bit?) had a go at Taylor Swift by tweeting a link to a Kickstarter that pledged to give the multi-million record selling singer-songwriter ‘a booty’?
Well, he got well and truly burned by her fans and is now licking his wounds. He told GQ Style: ‘I can go head-to-head with anybody. I don’t care who you are.’
He added that he didn’t go after his collaborator (and pal of Taylor) Lorde, ‘I didn’t go after Lorde because she’s my friend and she’s a young girl and the one person I kept it cool with.’
‘All I know is, don’t ever get into a feud with Taylor Swift. She has like 50 million people that will die for her.'
'It’s like an army that’s worse than North Korea. You can’t step into that arena. That was something I was never prepared for… one of the biggest mistakes of my career was definitely fucking with her.’
Aw, Diplo. There are two silver linings here. Firstly, 67% of Taylor's followers are bots, apparently. Which means of her 50 million Twitter followers only 16.5 million of them are 'real'. Thing is, that's still twice the size of the (North) Korean People's Army.
Secondly, Taylor seems to have forgiven Kanye (she went for dinner with him and Kim!), so maybe she’ll forgive you, too… otherwise that booty joke will turn out to be a real bummer.
