Being a sparkle magpie whore, over the years I've ended up with a whole stash of brooches that I hardly ever wear, that I just poke at every now and again while making cooing noises. But NO MORE. It's time to crack out your brooches, ladies, as Milan Fashion Week has officially made them cool again.

Ok, so it's mostly Miuccia Prada who has made them cool again, as per usual, because the Prada show was packed full of elegant jewelled perspex brooches in candy colours. But Les Copains and Fausto Puglisi also sent some brooch bling down the runway. So it's definitely a thing.

Not sure how to wear one? Try on the pocket of your white T shirt, or a couple dotted slightly off your lapel - not where your granny would pin it, basically.

If you don't have your own stash of glitzy pins (I do realise that most normal people don't) then check out these babies below.

Cloud brooch, £30, Tatty Devine, stars brooch, £34, Tatty Divine, neon flower brooch, £85, Issa at Netaporter.com, superhero brooch, £165, Stella McCartney at Netaporter.com, blue crystal brooch, £85, S Max Mara, palm tree brooch, £125, No21 at Matchesfashion.com, Oil of Olay vintage brooch, £14, Rokit Vintage
