Spending an hour in Zara last weekend has made me realise that:

  1. I have a very patient boyfriend.
  1. Changing rooms stress me the hell out.

Getting hot and bothered (oo-er) in a Zara changing room isn't usually how I like to spend my Saturday night, but as I'm in desperate need of a wardrobe overhaul, it had to be done. Stripes are everywhere this season, this time they've been reinvented with zig zags and bold colour ways for a fresh twist. I currently own a disappointing four Breton tops, so without further ado, here's how I got on trying to up my stripe game this Spring...

The pinstripe combo

Shirt, £59.99, trousers, £35.99

Slouchy shirt + baggy trousers = casual office chic I can appreciate. I'm not always one to embrace bold colours or patterns, so keepin' things simple by doubling up on pinstripes is a easy way to subtly introduce a little stripe in your life. Team with brogues and add a blazer and you're good to go.

**The bright midi co-ord **

Top, £29.99, skirt, £39.99

The co-ord trend has been around for a pretty long time now and is still something I am yet to dabble in (always late to the party, Jazz), but this stripy midi set is definitely something I can jump on board - I'm lovin' the mix of stripe sizes and the pop of colour!

The coat that's a stripe out

Coat, £109, sweater, £39.99, jeans, £35.99

The current chilly weather (read: it's bloody freezing) means this is this coat is the most practical thing I tried on at the weekend. Statement coats always have made me a little weary (I'd pick a plain coat or something a little more muted usually - means I can get away with wearing the same coat everyday and no one will notice!), but the simplicity of the boxy shape and monochrome colour way means this is a great investment that will last you through the whole year.

The flippy skirt

Skirt, £35.99, sweater, £39.99

I'm lovin' the style of this skirt, but I'm not convinced that the shape is 100% sure it's right for my body shape. I can totally imagine someone taller with a better bust:waist ratio than myself rocking this with a pair of heels and a plain crop top this Spring

The sailor stripe dress

Dress, £35.99

Oi oi, sailor! In need of a thrown-on-when-on-doubt outfit? This is the ideal dress for you.

The patchwork shirt

Shirt, £29.99, jeans, £35.99

This patchwork stripe shirt was the first thing that caught my eye in Zara, and I'm in LOVE. I've simply styled it with a pair of skinnies to let the shirt do the talking, but once the warmer weather hits I'd definitely team this with a denim pinafore or a fitted black skirt with bare legs.
