Does anyone else feel a bit stuffed full of Christmas clothing? If I see one more piece of glitzy, tinselly, baubly thing, I might even scream. So we've detoxed this week's CRS, and headed over to Whistles, where you can buy a tonne of super sleek minimalist things to ring in the New Year and help you pretend you've got your shit together in 2015. I would also like to mention the fact that Whistles have changing rooms with luxurious feeling tweed curtains. Huge brownie points right there.

70s Denim Flares

Denim flares, £195, striped top, £52, available in store

I was immediately obsessed with these flares, they're ridiculously on trend for spring's 70s obsession, and they're made of super thick, really really blue denim. I paired them with a stripey fine knit top, but they will pretty much work with any lightweight top you own. I'd choose a size down to your usual size if you're ordering online.

**The Victoria Beckham Look **

Top, £115, culottes, £195

This is what I would wear to a swishy cocktail party if I had one to go to. Culottes feel so much more modern than a cocktail dress, and the silky fabric makes you feel brilliantly chic. DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT drink red wine. Or go anywhere where red wine exists. The sizing on the top is slightly larger than usual, but if you can't afford to buy both then I'd recommend the bandeau - you can wear it with virtually any trousers you already own and it looks designer IRL.

**The Utility Jumpsuit **

Jumpsuit, £235, available in store

Aside from my onesie, this is the comfiest jumpsuit I've ever worn. The chambray is ludicrously soft, and you will end up wanting to wear it on saturdays with trainers for shopping, but also with heels for as massive night out. This is one you will keep forever.

The Jumper Dress

Knitted dress, £155, available in store

You absolutely need to buy a jumper dress. It's totally a thing. And it's also worth buying a decent one, because the cheap nylon-y ones loose their shape very quickly and look like knitted sacks. You will throw this on on Sunday afternoons, you could wear it to work, and you could wear it for a date with heeled over the knee boots.

The Japanese Number

Skirt, £195, knit top, £125, available in store

This oragami-esque skirt could be a bit of Yohji Yamamoto, and makes you look like a total grown-up. Brilliant if you have an interview for a job to give you a whole new life next year and want to wear something a bit more interesting than a normal, boring pencil skirt.

The Denim Shift Dress

Dress, £195

You can never go wrong with a short denim dress. You will wear it to death come summertime, but while it's still chilly you can wear over grey marl tights with a slouchy cardigan and ankle boots.
