Remember last year's cult Zara coat? The navy one with studs on the arms? I loved that coat, and almost bought it, but within a couple of weeks it was 'the everywhere coat'.

It's the same every winter: where there's one coat, usually from one of the high street biggies, which ends up selling in its thousands.

And whilst in a way you should be flattered you've got good taste, there's nothing more deflating than spending a chunk of money on a coat you love only to see every other woman on your commute wearing exactly the same thing. Especially when it's something you're going to be wearing all winter.

So let us introduce you to Goodnight Macaroon: the e-store that's the answer to your coat shopping woes. And a favourite of Miranda Kerr and Olivia Palermo, too.

Goodnight Macaroon sells unusual knitwear that you could pass off as designer (the handbags and shoes are also worth checking out, too) but it's the coats that really deserve a look. Each one is made in the US and then shipped to you from Hong Kong, meaning that the designs are going to look original on the streets of the UK.

Here's six coats on there right now that might just persuade you away from your usual shopping haunts.

The Fleece Lined Dream Duffle

The double layers and contrasting fabrics on this navy duffle coat make it look much more expensive than its £80 price tag.

The Normcore Number

This might be boring but it's true: everyone needs a reliable grey coat. It goes with everything, is smart enough to wear to work and also looks great thrown over jeans with the perfect grey jumper for autumn.

The One That'll Cheer You Up In The Rain

Is it a parka? Is it a trench? Is it a blazer? We have no idea. But who doesn't love the puckered cuffs, zips and rosy hue of this? Perfectly cheering.

**The Updated Trench **

While it's good to have a standard trench coat, it's just a little bit better to have a two-toned one that no one else has. The grey skirt on this Goodnight Macaroon trench lets you do colour blocking while still working with everything in your wardrobe.

**The Cape That's Actually Flattering **

We're championing the cape this season, and this royal blue version has a flattering dropped hem at the back. Probably why Olivia P has been spotted wearing it.

**The Grey Coat With Just Enough Extra Detail **

The berry cuffs and collar add just enough interest to distinguish this boyfriend jacket from your actual boyfriend's. Plus, it's made of wool - you might even be able to persuade your mum to buy it for you on practical grounds. Or something.
