A 28-year-old woman has won the gold medal at the Cake International Competition in Birmingham after baking a life-sized cake version of Jennifer Lawrence.

Lara Clarke chose to create the Katniss cake since she’s a massive fan of The Hunger Games. She researched J-Law’s exact measurements to get it just right, and she says the cake is true to Jennifer’s 5ft 10 height, as well as her bust and waist and so on.

It’s not the first time Lara’s made a huge cake, though. She also won a gold medal at the competition last year after entering a giant Johnny Depp cake, but she felt a little more pressure this year since she doesn’t feel she was taken seriously with last year’s entry due to the ingredients she used: ‘People said my crisped rice Johnny Depp cake wasn't a proper cake, so I wanted to show them I could make a life-sized sponge cake,’ she told the BBC.

So, for her J-Law creation, she went full sponge, using 150 eggs, 10kg of flour, 10kg of sugar and 10kg of butter as well as 60kg of icing, and some other ingredients. She had to use 30 12-inch tins to bake the sponges, and we assume, one* gigantic* oven.

Lara taught herself to bake by watching YouTube baking tutorials and apparently was inspired to make human-sized cakes after watching Pirates of the Caribbean and thinking Johnny Depp would make a nice cake. Er, that's not what we think about when we look at Johnny Depp, but fair enough.
