A quick scroll of your Instagram feed this week and you’ll have no doubt seen our favourite of the Kardashian crew Kylie going all 50 Shades on us - well, more one shade - she dyed her hair grey. It was major news.
OK so Kylie is hardly the first to try the trend – grey has ‘almost’ been having it's moment for the past few years: Tavi tried it, Kelly O did it, RiRi gave it a shot. Fashion even trended it - remember Freja Beha Erichsen looking ridiculously awesome with Karl like hair in that AW11 Chanel campaign? And our personal favourite was grey hair icon Chenno Grey (yes, she's by name and nature - follow her instagramfor unltimate grey hair swooning).
But with Kylie's current appeal, and her casual 7.5 million Twitter followers, it seems like she might have reinvigorated the interest in all things grey.
According to the many, highly reliable, US sources Kylie spent a whopping 12 hours in the hairdresser's chair to debut her new ombre silver locks in time for Halloween (impressive considering we applied fake blood on the back of the bus).
If you're sold, here's a few tips as to how to do it right:

**Dip It **
Dibs to Kylie as she's found a cool new way of trying the trend by dying her long dark locks a dip dye grey. This is a great way to try out bold colour without committing to a whole head, plus there’s an added bonus of no dark roots. Score. You'll need to book an apointment at a salon for this.
**Tone It **
Unlike in AW14 fashion block colour won't work for this trend so instead ask your stylist to incorporate different silver and platinum tones to make the hair more luminous. Colour It
Once you've gone grey it's super easy to experiment with colour washes so go peach one week and then lilac the next. Those bleaching hair pro's Bleach London offer wash in paints for just a fiver from Boots. Or if you want a less permenant look try hair chalks that will wash out after one go.
Go With It
If you're one of the lucky ones that is already going grey - go with it - embrace your hair colour and simply ask a colourist to help even out the tones across your head of hair.
**DIY It **
