Ah, the noughties. It was a special time of unions like Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson and Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, a simpler time when the definition of a smartphone was whether it had Snake on it (looking at you trusty Nokia 3310) and when we only had one Hotmail account. Oh, and it was a time of kickass decor. We all had disco balls, lava lamps and inflatable chairs in our rooms and everything was pink, fluffy, shiny or all of the above, right? Relive those golden years with our round-up of the best grown-up (ish) noughties-inspired stuff for your room.
Lava Lamp
A classic, yes. But, this one is like a total V 2.0. The glowing streams react to your touch and the lightning effect responds to sound. Basically, you can have a nostalgic rave-for-one.
Glow in the dark stickers
These wall stickers come with all the various astrology signs so that counts as being mature and mystical. Some may even say, arty. So there.
Robot dog
Remember your trusty robot dog, Rufus and how he would jump and let out a robotic bark at the hands of a clap? Well, Rufus for your adult-self is now a built in bluetooth speaker to play all your favourite tunes.
The inflatable chair
Gone is the fluorescent-pink eyesore and in is this (glamping-friendly) mega-chic black inflatable sofa.
Beaded curtains
It doesn't get more Britney Spears-era than a beaded curtain. You can imagine sifting through it while singing and dancing along to I'm A Slave 4 U, right?
Fluffy sheepskin rugs
Coloured fur was huge in the noughties (um, hello Sex And The City-mania) and nothing says noughties bedroom like a sheepskin rug. Practical and pretty.
