With the mid-term elections fast approaching in the US, a bunch of celebrities have joined the Rock the Vote campaign to get young people to turn out to vote on 4 November.

The mid-terms are when voters elect members of the United States Congress, including 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives, and a third of the 100 seats in the United States Senate. The mid-terms always happen two years after the Presidential elections.

The video, a parody of Lil Jon’s Turn Down For What, stars Lena Dunham, Natasha Lyonne, Portlandia’s Fred Armisen and, of course, Lil Jon. During the course of the track, each star goes through the issues they’re voting for.

‘My name is Lil Lena and I’m turning out for reproductive rights,’ says Lena Dunham, before dancing around in a peach-coloured T-shirt and boyshorts.

Devendra Banhart says he’s turning out for deforestation, Rich Kids of Beverly Hills star EJ Johnson is turning out for marriage equality and One Tree Hill actress Sophia Bush is turning out for women’s rights. Appropriately enough, Orange Is The New Black star Natasha Lyonne is turning out for prison reform.

And Lil Jon? What’s he turning out for? The legalisation of marijuana, duh.
