Fed up of Tinder's dick pics and guys asking you to 'fuk'? Cuddlr is the new dating app that offers a sex-free alternative. Swapping shagging for snuggles, the app matches people with others in the area and users have 15 minutes to respond to a request. A hug request! What could go wrong?!

Creator Charlie Williams insists that it's just good, clean, cuddly fun: 'On Cuddlr, you get together straight away, have a little cuddle, and then part ways. If you want to hang out again, you can exchange information then and there – but you already know what kind of cuddles they give,' he told The Daily Mirror. 'It is possible to report someone who cuddles inappropriately, and we encourage first-time pairs to do their cuddling in a public place. Users can give information about their cuddling preferences such as if they favour being the little or big spoon.'

If you happen to want something more, then that's up to you, but the cuddles remain the most important part of the experience. 'Unlike some other apps, Cuddlr is strictly about PG-rated experiences. Keep the cuddle a cuddle! At times you may want to ask someone about having a coffee or learning to knit. Wait until the end of the cuddle, then ask politely.'

A rating system lets you rate other cuddlers as 'awesome', 'good', 'OK' or 'inappropriate', a bit like an ebay sellers' rating but with more cuddles. Hugging releases oxytocin, a feel-good chemical that increases overall happiness, and a good snuggle has also been linked to reduced blood pressure and cited as a de-stressant. If that's not a reason to join, we don't know what is.
