God, it must really suck to be Jennifer Aniston sometimes. Ever since she split up with Brad Pitt, the entire world has looked upon her with deep pity. With every failed relationship since that one, the globe has been on Jennifer Wedding Watch. That, and Jennifer Pregnancy Watch.

She talked about it in February as part of a Makers Conference conversation with our favourite woman on the planet, Gloria Steinem, when they sarcastically commented that were in ‘deep shit’ for being unwed women without kids. ‘Being a woman, our value and our worth is basically associated with our marital status or whether or not we have procreated,’ she said at the time.

Apparently the topic isn’t just one for the entire internet to discuss; Jennifer has now admitted she talks about it in her private time, too – with Gloria.

‘I'd talked to her personally about this for a while, just because it is such an issue of, like, 'Are you married yet? Are you going to have your babies yet?’ Jen told Carson Daly in an interview for the Today Show.

‘I don't have this sort of checklist of things that have to be done, and if they're not checked, then I've failed some part of my feminism or my being a woman or my worth and my value as a woman because I haven't birthed a child. I've birthed a lot of things and I feel like I've mothered many things and I don't feel like it's fair to put that pressure on people.’

She’s been engaged to Justin Theroux since 2012, and as far as we know there’s no wedding date set. But frankly, do we even care? Why does the world so desperately want Jennifer Aniston to be married? Why is it everyone imagines a 45-year-old woman with great friends and career and relationship can’t possibly be happy unless she is Mrs Theroux or just a Mrs in general?
