If there’s one Instagram account you’ll want to follow when fashion month kicks off next week, it’s the brand new account from Barbie.
She’s many things —entrepreneur, doctor, air hostess, cheerleader, photographer, er, Karl Lagerfeld, and now she’s turned personal style blogger, complete with detail shots of actual designer clothes and accessories.
The new account @BarbieStyle, shows her in a series of recognisable blogger poses – leaning against a wall gazing into the distance (bloggers love not looking into the camera), reading Elle in a typical cool-girl biker jacket and on-trend braided hair plus a close-up of her classic Coach Classic Penny satchel with turnlock clasp.
In another shot we get a glimpse of her fashion week essentials – phone, shades, camera etc., and she’s even uploaded her first ever #TBT: an appearance in her first television commercial.
It’s so clever and fun and reflects the exact lifestyle of your average blogger. During New York Fashion Week she’ll stay at The Standard hotel. There’s no word of what hotel she will be at in London, but perhaps the Edition or Chiltern Firehouse?
Since we’re inundated with the same front row shot from tens of people every time Fashion Week rolls around, Barbie’s Fashion Week feed is hopefully going to be a refreshing tongue-in-cheek look at the whole experience. We're already obsessed and the account has only been live for a day.
Oh, and one guess who’s taking the pictures? Yep, Ken.
