Zayn Malik, the beardy heartthrob from One Direction, has opened up his Instagram account to the public, sharing with 460,000 fans (that’s going to rise, we assure you) his favourite photos. Here are six things we can learn from it:
1. Apart from Louis, he doesn’t much care for the rest of One Direction
Zayn follows only eight people on Instagram and only one of them is in his band. That’s Louis Tomlinson, the one he was seen giggling and sharing a jazzy-looking cigarette with in a video leaked earlier this year. He’s also posted a photo of a be-suited Louis with the caption, ‘Louis lookin sick.’
2. He hasn’t quite got the hang of Throwback Thursdays
Posting an image of him looking a lot fresher-faced than now, with his dad (who’s got beautiful eyes, might we add), he captioned it, ‘Me and pops :) x old pik,’ just in case we didn’t realise that a photo of him looking significantly younger than he is right now was an old one. Maybe next time he’ll go for the #tbt, or, if he wants to upload it on a Friday, a #fbf. His options are wide and varied and our broodiness is open to many more images of him as a young scamp.
3. He has tattooed people!
Now, not everyone is into getting inked by a mate, but if Zayn was your mate and he was touching your leg and putting indelible marks on your skin you would probably be more open to the idea of having it done, wouldn’t you? Good thing that he’s had some practice at it, as he Insty-ed an image of him doing it way back before he had his own sleeves of tattoos. He captioned it, ‘My first tattooing debut! look how bare my arms look haha :)’
4. He’s smiling on the inside
As much as a selfie brings him much joy, he doesn’t let it show with his face, but with his smileys. Never emoji, he uses the text colon and close-bracket to show that he’s not as miserable as that adorable pout would have you think. Of his 43 posts, 31 are of his face and he’s only smiling in six of them. But then his captions contain a whopping 20 smiley faces, so rest assured, the blue steel look is just there because he looks hotter when he’s angry.
5. He’s wearing an engagement ring!
OK, we knew that Zayn was engaged to Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards, as she showed off her sparkling diamond at the premiere of the 1D movie way back in November of last year. But what we didn’t know is that Zayn’s also sporting a lovely ring to show his commitment to Perrie ahead of their wedding, which is meant to take place this year.
6. One Direction fans are really, really, really into One Direction
Though 5 Seconds Of Summer might be stealing many members of One Direction’s fandom, the boys are still very popular with some, as the bottom comment on a photo of Zayn’s beautiful face proves. Oh, and by the way, since starting to write this piece, he’s gained 6,000 followers.
