The Best Bits To Buy From Tiger

First things first. If you’re lucky enough to have one of the sex-tacular stores in your town (at the moment they’re only located in the South – sorry Northern friends) you know how magical a place it is. For those not familiar, it’s basically like that bit at the end of IKEA where you play supermarket sweep with all the little bits and trinkets you never knew you needed. Everything’s really nicely designed (thanks Scandi design!) and even better, it’s really cheap. So here’s our favourite picks for summer stuff that you’ve got to get your hands on.

This Festival Bumbag That’s Really Rather Adorable

Screw carrying around a big old backpack all day, this summer’s all about 90’s throwback The Bumbag. The nice watermelon design takes you firmly out of gunt flashing jean wearing American tourist territory and firmly into clever festival goer who’s not going to get her phone nicked.

Someone as important as you should definitely not have to lie on the cold hard ground to do your sunbathing. It’s positively barbaric. This guy is the excellent way to take sun lounging to the next level while your minions shuffle uncomfortably on the grass dealing with grass rashes, bugs and dog poo.

These pouches thatu2019ll make packing a breeze4 of 10

These pouches that’ll make packing a breeze

We’ve said it before guys and we’ll say it again, pouches make stuffing your shit into a bag for hols SO much easier. Pants in one, electricals in another and jewellery in another. Wave bye bye to scrabbling around at the bottom of your massive suitcase for the ONE thing you want amongst many.

These straws thatu2019ll show your party guests you care5 of 10

These straws that’ll show your party guests you care

You know your summer party’s going to end up with everyone drinking crappy beer from a country you’ve never heard of but at the beginning when your real friends are arriving, it doesn’t hurt to have a few decorations scattered around. These straws can be displayed next to the carefully crafted bowl of punch that’ll run out in five minutes and the American red cups you ordered off the internet and paid £15 in postage for.

Summer means holiday, but it also means a hell of a lot of time spent on trains, planes and automobiles getting to said fun summer destination. Which, as you know, blows. Luckily the internet means you can while away these boring times by ignoring the passing scenery to stare at a telly show on your iPad. Share the joy with the person you’re sitting next to (as long as you know them) with this headphone jack that splits your headphone plug bit into two.□

These sponges that *might* make your housemates start cleaning up7 of 10

These sponges that *might* make your housemates start cleaning up

Not techinically a summer item per say but the jazzy fruit shapes definitely mean they’re for use during warmer weather. Basically you know when you get a new shampoo and you probably wash your hair a day earlier than normal because you want to try it out? We’re pushing this theory with these sponges. Perhaps if you leave them by the sink your flatmate will be so intrigued that she’ll finally wash up last week’s mousakka pan. Maybe.

This poncho for those in the first throws of love8 of 10

This poncho for those in the first throws of love

We’ve had our fair share of downpours so far this summer and, seeing as festival season’s still going on, there’s more of them to come. Prepare yourself with this totally adorable poncho that’ll fit you and your nearest and dearest comfortably in while the heavens open. If rain’s forecast all day, just make sure your poncho-mate isn’t someone you’re going to want to punch in the face after an hour.

These pick up sticks to play while you’re waiting for the BBQ to heat up

Who knew how boring coals were? Half an hour before you get start grilling? Snooooooozefest. Pass the time with this giant outdoor version of that endlessly entertaining game you used to play as a kid. Chances are after the three mojitos you’ve already had on an empty stomach, you won’t be very good, but at least you’ll have fun.

This bunting which’ll remind you that it’s summer even when it’s raining outside

Take it from someone who’s housemate is a bunting addict (you can learn to live with it even if you don’t like chintz; I did) it can do wonders to the mood of a room. This watermelon stuff will vibe summer even if it’s gearing out for a thunderstorm outside. Photographs by Anna Jay
