It’s been 24 hours since footage of a girl giving 24 men blowjobs at a club in Magaluf first leaked online – and as the view count has sky-rocketed on the video, so have the bad opinions of the girl.

The three-minute long video is said to show the 18-year-old British girl giving blowjobs to the men at a nightclub in the Spanish party town. Why on earth was she doing it? Well, initial reports say that she only received a €3 bottle of Cava in return, but now The Sun reports that she was expecting a holiday out of it. ‘It was a game that got completely out of hand. The girl was being encouraged to drink more and more and was told she would win a “holiday” if she took part in this game,’ a 26-year-old witness, named only as Kieran, told the paper. ‘Unfortunately, the “holiday” turned out to be the name of a cocktail. I feel sorry for her now. She must feel awful.’

But while he’s got sympathy for the girl, it seems those viewing the videos haven’t. The comments range from horrendous speculation about her blowjob technique, her worth as a woman and that age-old argument about how this scenario shows the denigration of British youth in general. (Side note: while it’s not exactly the most sensible course of action to take on a night out – OK, understatement of the year – think of the worst thing that you’ve ever done when drunk, and then imagine that being publicised on the internet for all to speculate and comment upon?) But while criticism at her is being thrown thick and fast, no one seems to have batted an eyelid about the club itself, or the organisers behind this sexually-charged contest?

You’ll have seen on Sun, Sex And Suspicious Parents, there’s a pretty bleak tradition known as ‘mamading’ in that part of the world. (‘Mamada’ being Spanish slang for performing a sex act) And the ‘game’ of young women competing in blowjob races for free booze is part of that.

The owner of the Green Parrot Bollocks Bar (charming name) told Vice (in a piece that’s since been removed, but is reported on by* The Huffington Post*) that it’s standard practice in the area. He said, ‘There are more and more of these pub crawls being set up, and it’s competition – they’re just trying to make them more and more sexy. I saw a lad blowing another lad the other day on a booze cruise. The DJ just announced it, and he was like, ‘Go on then.’ It was for 20 extra points that don’t even exist. It’s a load of crap at the end of the day.’

Exactly. Which is why perhaps if there’s one good piece of news in this sorry tale of public humiliation via an iPhone, it’s that Local Mayor Manuel Onieva told* Mallorca Daily* overnight he ‘completely rejects’ mamading and that if a bar has been involved in anything illegal to do with this they will be shut. No word on how that will affect sales of 18-30 package holidays yet...
