Nyjah Cousar, a student at Clemson University in South Carolina, has become an international cautionary tale for double checking the recipient before you send a nude selfie.

She’d intended to send the cheeky photo to her boyfriend, Dacquan, but his name appears right next to ‘Daddy’ on her iPhone contacts list. By accident, she sent it to her dad. See how it all unfolded:

She also screengrabbed his texts to her, including gems like: ‘Did you mean to send me this ?’ ‘Answer the phone NOW’ and ‘Is this is what you do when you’re at School??’ and posted them to Twitter and Instagram

As well as RTs , likes, comments with the cry-laughing emoji, @'s tagging in friends who would find the story a lol, favourites and followers (she started with 800 and now has 17,000), she got a load of hate from people calling her a 'thot' for sending the photo, to which she attested:

Then… her dad came round and, as you can see from this video, he’s not happy at all.

It might – very just might – be a hoax. Firstly, the original photo was posted nowhere (but then again, why would she sent the photo out to the whole world if it causes so much grief when her dad sees it, and wtf would he be doing it showing it to the world?). Secondly, all of the filming seems too well timed, and the way she told the story online is so expertly done, up-to-the-minute coverage of her own life. But then again, people these days are really great at relaying the details of their lives via their social media profiles, so stranger stuff has happened.

And Nyjah insists that she really did accidentally send her dad the nudie:

Plus, why would she make it up, especially when there’s so much hate being flung her way – even when no one’s actually seen the photo she took of herself, which was intended for her boyfriend in the first place?

The lesson learned? Well, As Nyjah puts it:

On the plus side, her dad might not even give a crap anymore,

: ‘I need help. How long can you keep a chicken/turkey frozen before it is no good? Remember, I want to know the longest!’
