Kristen Stewart is as much known for her surly scowls on red carpets as her acting. Plopped into frilly dresses and towering heels, she nearly always seems a little unhappy to be there. That is, until she changes into some flats. And not just any flats, but flat trainers. And some people get upset about it, complaining that she’s uncouth for changing halfway through her red carpet duties.

She's now hit out at the haters, though, saying that they’re ‘crazy’ for being fussed about her footwear, which, we're guessing, is because toddling about in three-inch heels for hours on end makes her feet sore. ‘For some reason it pisses people off when I change after a red carpet,’ she told*People. *‘If I think about why people have these expectations of me it makes sense, but I genuinely think that if people thought about it for two seconds they'd be like, “Oh my God, why do I care that that girl just put some [expletive] sneakers on?” Are you seriously mad that I put on some Vans after an hour of being in heels? I'm so sorry to have upset you, you crazy person.’

Which makes perfect sense to us, to be honest. It’s quite refreshing for a young actress to admit that, no, she didn’t wake up looking like this, and no, those heels always that comfortable. It certainly makes us feel better about the time we’ve flung off high heels to go barefoot or plodded about in (sorry) flip flops at formal events.

Her stylist, Tara Swennen previously went on the record to say that Kristen will always be kind enough to wear the towering heels at the beginning of a red carpet so that she can get the right photos out there for the fashion world to enjoy. ‘She’ll always change into her Converses by halfway through a carpet, which is to be expected at this point, but she puts on the heels for me for the photos, God bless her,’ Tara told RadarOnline. ‘At the end of the day, I want my clients to be comfortable because I think it shows. She needs to put on her sneakers and that’s all right with me.’

And it's all right by us, too. Plus, if it helps her get a Nike deal, then we can't really see the haters winning.
