There's no doubt that we live in the age of the all-in-one. Onesies, rompers, playsuits, dungarees - being able to go to the loo without having to take your entire outfit off is, like, so passé. So what's next? You might wonder. We'll tell you what. Hold on to your bonnets, because catsuits are back.

Ekat catsuits - launched today by 27-year-old Ekaterina Malysheva - are jazzy, slinky catsuits (or katsuits) priced at £140 and for the disco-ready moments of modern life. You may need to gird your loins before you quite literally girdle your loins. So take a deep breath - and resdiscover the full-length leotard. We'd suggest some grubby trainers, fyi, to offset the Jane Fonda-ness, just FYI.

We caught up with Ekaterina, to find out more about why we should all be embracing the catsuit.

The Debrief: Hi Ekaterina. So are catsuits the new onesie?

Ekaterina Malysheva: Errr, catsuits have been around for longer than onesies!

DB: Fair point. Are they for parties, or walking the dog?

EK: Both. I wear my suit (the tiger_flamingo) to walk my dog and I've worn it to parties, too.

DB: And have you always been loyal to the catsuit cause?

EK: Before I started making Ekat suits, I was actually working on documentary films: The Square (Al Midan) directed by Jehane Noujaim and Pussy Riot - The Trial produced by Roast Beef Productions.

**DB: So things that were a a bit more serious than lycra. **

EM: Yes! The catsuits are for having fun.

DB: They look a bit like the Magic Eye poster I had on my bedroom wall. What was your inspiration?

EM: I love 80s music and David Bowie is definitely an inspiration. I wanted them to be fun but a little bit more chic than what is currently on the market. It's easy to find fluorescent colours, or skeleton prints but almost impossible to find something more intricate.

DB: What about the fact that catsuits, um, aren't the most flattering piece. Are you determined to show people that they are?

EM: The fabrics I use structure the body and the pieces are actually quite slimming, not only due to the fabrics but also because of the prints. A couple of my more shapely friends wore them and looked absolutely stunning. But they are, of course, only flattering to an extent. I won't lie and say that they will make a size 14 look like a size 6 because they won't!

DB: Who would you most like to see in an Ekat catsuit?

EM: Madonna!

DB: Obviously. And what's next for Ekat?

EM: Faux fur coats. To compliment the catsuits.
